Have I ever!
We love camping together, and though it was easier before we had kids, we love camping with them too.
Most camping trips we do in recent years have a specific destination in mind, usually a national park. But we’ve gone camping for camping’s sake too.
We used to tent camp, but we haven’t done that since getting our travel trailer back in 2020. Though we’d be open to tent camping even now.
Favorite Trailer Camping Trip
My favorite camping trip with our trailer was back in 2020.
Covid messed up a lot of plans in 2020, including canceling our trip to Yosemite (which we ended up doing in 2023). Almost as important, it messed up our 4th of July plans.
4th of July is our favorite holiday, and it’s also close to my birthday. Rather than letting Covid ruin the holiday, we went camping in the Uintas. We brought our then baby girl, she was about 7-months old.
It was beautiful, and a wonderful way to escape the harsh realities of the world in 2020.

Favorite Tent Camping Trip
My favorite tent camping trip is from October 2014 in Moab.
We were still newlyweds and had less responsibilities. Just a small house payment and our puppy Stanley.
We found a spot near the Colorado River. Chris got to go fishing, and Stanley loved it too. It was perfectly peaceful.

No matter how we camp—tent or trailer, with kids or without—it always brings us back to what matters most. Fresh air, a slower pace, and time together as a family in the great outdoors.
