Chris turned 40 at the end of 2025, and I wanted to do something special without throwing a big party that he wouldn’t appreciate. So I gave him what I knew he’d appreciate the most: 40 slices of pizza!
Our twenty-first stop was: Litzas Pizza
716 E 400 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84102
Restaurant Location and Vibe
Litzas Pizza is right in downtown SLC, and I’ve been curious about it for years, but this was our first opportunity to try it. We had just tried the pizza at Via Veneto Pizzarium (very unique, but expensive, dining experience) and we were still hungry, so Litzas was our second serving of pizza for the night.
You can sit and eat at a table, and it looks like a good spot for families, though we just got takeout.
The Pizza
We got one large Cheese pizza for a price of $27. No need to ask for extra cheese, it had plenty! The pizza had a different aroma and flavor I couldn’t quite pin down – but Chris nailed it. Onion!
We did not order onions, but they are clearly a star player in the tomato sauce. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely different from your average cheese pizza.
The cheese itself was a bit rubbery for our taste, but not bad.

The Dough
Chris said you could tell the dough was a high-gluten dough – he says you can tell by how chewy the crust was. Chris guesses they must use one of those rollers to poke holes in the dough to prevent air bubbles, but he thinks it would be better if they didn’t do that and allowed the air bubbles to make it more airy. I have no way to know if this is true, but how neat would that be if Chris guessed right?
Overall Value
The pizza was pretty good overall, and they were very generous with the plates and napkins, unlike other downtown SLC pizza locations. A great place to come with your family and get your fill. We decided the pizza was good enough for a return visit if we are in close proximity, but not necessarily good enough to seek it out specifically.
The Score
Chris rated his pizza a 6.8, a pretty good and fair rating!
