Chris turned 40 at the end of 2025, and I wanted to do something special without throwing a big party that he wouldn’t appreciate. So I gave him what I knew he’d appreciate the most: 40 slices of pizza!

Our twenty-second stop was: Taboo Pizza
3017 Harrison Blvd, Ogden, UT 84403

Pizza Location and Atmosphere

There are actually two locations, but we went to the original in Ogden (the second location is where the Slackwater Pizzeria used to be). It’s been around for maybe 8-10 ish years, it used to be a different pizza place called Pizza Runner.

It’s a nice looking place, but there’s not really any indoor seating. They get really busy, so plan to order your pizza well in advance.

They are very friendly – I came to pick up and it wasn’t quite ready, so they said they’d bring it out to our car once it was.

The Cheese Boi

We’ve only been here a handful of times, mostly because you have to order a couple hours in advance, so it’s not a place to come on a whim, or at least on a Friday night. I actually really like this place a lot more than Chris does, at least for the Cheese Bois alone. Though Chris will agree that the Cheese Bois are pretty incredible.

They have a few different “Boi” varieties, but we have not gotten off the Cheese Boi. It’s basically just bread sticks, but stuffed with cheese and topped with seasonings. It’s cheesy, greasy, and phenomenal! You do have to pay extra for the ranch dressing to dip them in. They are good enough without the ranch, but the ranch definitely takes it to the next level for sure.

The Pizza

On this visit, we got the Muggle (plain cheese) and the Great Debate (Hawaiian). Hawaiian pizza is Chris’s probably second most ordered pizza after a good meat lovers. He is not one of those people who claims pineapple shouldn’t go on pizza, and he is unashamed to say it! It’s a good family-friendly topping that the kids will eat too.

That said, the pizza is good, but definitely not as good as the Cheese Bois, and it doesn’t have enough sauce. The crust has the appearance and structure of a pizza that would have some crunch, but instead it is chewy. The pizza was piping hot – Chris wonders if a different oven would raise the dough better, because clearly the temperature is not the problem.

Not enough sauce is something we’ve noted on prior visits too – in the past we’ve tried the BBQ Chicken Pizza and noted it was rather stingy on the BBQ sauce, and in the past I’ve actually added more sauce from home when reheating leftovers.

The Score

Chris rated his pizza a 6.9, which is actually a pretty good score.
Note that his rating on the Cheese Boi (not technically pizza) is 8.1!
