Chris turned 40 at the end of 2025, and I wanted to do something special without throwing a big party that he wouldn’t appreciate. So I gave him what I knew he’d appreciate the most: 40 slices of pizza!
Our twenty-third stop was: Pie Boy Pizza
204 E 500 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111
Pizza Location and Hours
This place is kind of a secret, and to be honest the only reason we knew about it was because when Dave Portnoy came to Utah, it was one of the places he tried and rated – he rated it a 7.9 – it was the second highest ranking he gave in Utah, just behind the Secret Pizza Club at 8.2.
It’s in the same location as the Baby’s Bagels – they sell bagels by day and pizza by night! But the pizza is only available Wednesday-Friday.
We had to pay to park – we paid $7 to park for 2 hours, but we could have gotten away with paying for 1 hour.
They have a small menu – only one size is offered, and you can choose between cheese, pepperoni, white, tomato, or vodka. The vodka was sold out, otherwise we would have tried it.
The Pizza
This was legit New York-style pizza. We ordered in the morning to ensure we got a spot and our order was ready at 6:30 PM on the dot.
We got right to it and started eating our pizza within a minute of our name being called. The crust is pretty good, and the sauce is really good. The sauce has tomato chunks in it, but without being obnoxious, and we really liked it. It was a little light on the cheese, but it was still good.
One thing though, is that the pizza was NOT hot. Like I said, we started eating within a minute of our name being called, but it cooled down really fast.

The pizza is BIG, but it’s also very thin, so you can eat more than you’d think. We ordered two pizzas, one was cheese, and the other was half cheese and half pepperoni. I would have ordered a full pepperoni, but I saw it’s the spicy cup pepperoni that I usually don’t like, so I only got it on half. But I ended up actually liking the pepperoni this time.
The Score
Chris rated his pizza a 7.8, a very high score! He would have rated in the 8’s if the pizza had been hotter. Next time we’d love to try to vodka sauce.
