Chris turned 40 at the end of 2025, and I wanted to do something special without throwing a big party that he wouldn’t appreciate. So I gave him what I knew he’d appreciate the most: 40 slices of pizza!
Our twenty-fourth stop was: Cruizzers
110B Winter St, Keystone, SD 57751
Location and Vibe
We stopped for pizza at this restaurant while we were in South Dakota visiting Mount Rushmore. It’s minutes away from the famous presidential faces, and it’s in a super fun, albeit tourist trap, area. The whole street this restaurant is on was very charming. The restaurant had a vintage auto and motorcycles theme, and the service was excellent – they were very nice!
The Pizza
We definitely ordered more than we needed to. We got the 10″ Garlic Cheese Sticks with a side of ranch and two 16″ pizzas – a cheese and a Hawaiian. The pizza was thin crust Midwestern Tavern style.

The cheese on the pizza tasted a bit off, and surprisingly enough, we felt like there was too much of it. It masked the flavor of the sauce. The cheese goes all the way to the end of the crust, but it’s not like Detroit style.
The crust was definitely the best part – when I started getting full, I started eating just the crust and left the triangle to toss instead of the other way around.
The Score
Chris rated the pizza a 6.2.
We definitely ordered too much. They gave us boxes to take home the leftovers, which we took to be polite. But we were on vacation and didn’t really have anywhere to put it, so we ended up tossing it.
I think thin crust Midwestern Tavern style is not our thing! However, the location near Mount Rushmore is hard to beat!
